A waiting hall with tall windows on both sides, rows of turquoise plastic seats facing a ceramic mosaic that fills the end wall. Steelworkers, builders and scientists are arranged across it in three groups, drawn in pale gold and blue tesserae. A doorway has been cut through the mosaic's right side, and a red fire panel mounted beside it.

The mosaic was made in 1975 by Roman Shusterman and Leonid Talskyi. Its subject is the industrial city at work, the trades pictured together, in common purpose.

From Yevgen Nikiforov's series Ukrainian Soviet Mosaics, a photographic survey of monumental mosaic art across Ukraine.
