We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration.

However, as explained below, certain processing associated with Shopify Network Intelligence and Enhanced Services may be considered “sharing” of personal information or “targeted advertising” under privacy laws in some jurisdictions.

5. Shopify and Shopify Network Intelligence

Our Site is powered by Shopify.

Shopify collects and processes certain personal information when you visit or interact with the Site in order to provide ecommerce, payment, security and related services.

We use Shopify Network Intelligence, which allows Shopify to use information about interactions with our store together with information from interactions with other Shopify merchants and with Shopify in order to provide enhanced services.

These services may include improved personalisation, store functionality, analytics, measurement, fraud prevention, store performance and advertising-related services.

Information about your activity on the Site may therefore be transmitted to and processed by Shopify and other third parties, including service providers that may be located in countries other than the country in which you live.

For certain Enhanced Services, Shopify processes personal information for purposes for which Shopify has its own responsibilities under applicable privacy law.

For more information about Shopify’s processing of personal information and the privacy choices available to you, please see the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to object to or opt out of certain processing by Shopify through the Shopify Privacy Portal or through privacy controls available on our Site.

6. Google Analytics, Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site and to help us measure and improve its performance and content.

Google Analytics may collect information such as:

  • pages viewed;
  • interactions with the Site;
  • device and browser information;
  • approximate geographic information; and
  • other website usage information.

Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to provide these services. Google requires websites using Google Analytics to disclose its use and the collection and processing of data.

We currently use Google Analytics for website measurement and analytics and do not use Google Analytics advertising or remarketing features.

Google processes information collected through Google Analytics in accordance with its applicable privacy policies and data-processing terms.

The Site also uses cookies and similar technologies necessary to operate our Shopify store, including technologies used for security, shopping, checkout and fraud prevention.

We and our service providers, including Shopify, may also use non-essential cookies or similar technologies for analytics, personalisation and other purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Where applicable law requires consent, we request consent before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies for these purposes.

You can manage your preferences through the cookie controls provided on the Site. You may also control cookies through your browser settings, although disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Site.

7. Email Communications

If you subscribe to SovaLova news or updates, we will use your email address to send occasional marketing communications.

You may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link contained in our marketing emails.

We may continue to send non-marketing communications relating to orders, deliveries or enquiries even if you unsubscribe from marketing.

We do not sell our mailing list.

8. Social Media and Third-Party Services

SovaLova maintains a presence on social media platforms, including Instagram, which we currently use as a marketing and communications channel.

Our Site may contain links to Instagram and other third-party websites or services.

If you interact with SovaLova through Instagram or another third-party platform, information collected through that platform is also subject to the platform provider’s own privacy practices.

Our Site may also contain links to other websites or services that we do not control. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of third-party websites or platforms.

If we introduce additional social commerce, advertising or tracking technologies in the future, we will update our privacy practices and this Privacy Policy where appropriate.

9. Data Sharing, Targeted Advertising and Opt-Out Choices

Certain Shopify Enhanced Services enabled through Shopify Network Intelligence may use information about your activity with our store together with information about your interactions with other Shopify merchants and Shopify.

Depending on applicable law, some of these activities may be considered “sharing”, “targeted advertising” or similar regulated processing.

Where you have a right to opt out of these activities, you may exercise that choice through our Data Sharing Opt-Out page or other privacy controls made available on the Site.

You may also be able to exercise privacy choices directly through the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Where applicable, we recognise legally required opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC), through the privacy mechanisms configured for our Site.

Shopify states that when its privacy controls are properly configured, customer opt-outs and consent choices are respected by Shopify Network Intelligence for the applicable processing.

10. Do Not Track

Some web browsers provide a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) signal.

There is currently no universally accepted standard for responding to browser DNT signals, and the Site does not respond specifically to DNT signals.

This is separate from legally recognised privacy preference signals such as Global Privacy Control, which we honour where required by applicable law and supported by our Site’s privacy controls.

Third-party services used on the Site may collect information about your activity on the Site over time as described in this Privacy Policy.

11. Additional Information for UK, EEA and Swiss Visitors

Where UK, European Economic Area or Swiss data protection law applies to our processing of your personal information, we process personal information on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract, including processing necessary to take and fulfil your order, arrange delivery and communicate with you about your purchase.
  • Legitimate interests, where necessary to operate, protect and improve our business and Site, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
  • Compliance with legal obligations, including tax, accounting and regulatory requirements.
  • Consent, where required, including for certain marketing communications, analytics, personalisation, advertising and use of non-essential cookies or similar technologies.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time through the relevant privacy controls or by contacting us. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

Where required for Shopify Network Intelligence and Enhanced Services, visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland are provided with consent controls for relevant non-essential personalisation and advertising uses and can subsequently withdraw their consent. Shopify specifically identifies this as a requirement when Network Intelligence is enabled.

12. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

This may include retaining information for as long as necessary to:

  • fulfil and document orders;
  • provide customer service;
  • maintain accounting, tax and business records;
  • prevent fraud;
  • resolve disputes; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

The appropriate retention period depends on the type of information, why it was collected and applicable legal requirements.

Newsletter subscription information is retained while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we may retain limited information necessary to record and honour your opt-out preference.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, disclosure or alteration.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may provide you with certain rights regarding your personal information.

These rights may include the right to:

  • request access to personal information relating to you;
  • request correction of inaccurate information;
  • request deletion of certain information;
  • receive a portable copy of certain information;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • opt out of certain sale, sharing or targeted advertising activities where applicable; and
  • appeal a decision relating to a privacy request where applicable law provides that right.

These rights are not absolute and may be subject to exceptions under applicable law.

To exercise a privacy right relating to SovaLova’s processing, please contact us using the details below or use the privacy controls provided on the Site.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. Where permitted by applicable law, an authorised agent may submit a request on your behalf.

We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights available to you under applicable law.

You can exercise certain rights relating directly to Shopify’s processing through the Shopify Privacy Portal.

15. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.

We do not knowingly use personal information relating to individuals under 16 for activities that constitute sale, sharing or targeted advertising where applicable law requires consent or otherwise restricts such processing.

16. International Processing and Transfers

Shopify, Google and other service providers we use may process or store personal information in countries other than the country in which you live.

Where applicable data protection law requires safeguards for international transfers of personal information, we and our service providers rely on legally recognised transfer mechanisms and safeguards.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our business, technologies, service providers, legal requirements or privacy practices.

When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy and provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
