Rubel Board Soap Dish
collectible design
The wooden soap dish has a textured shape that mimics the design of a rubel, a transversely grooved object once used in Eastern European villages for washing and ironing laundry. Each soap dish has its own unique texture and color, so it may differ from the image.
Valkeda is an Eastern European studio working in a Nordic minimalist idiom. The name comes from a form of the Old Veps word for clean, white, with the stress on the first syllable. The studio describes its approach this way: forms as simple as beauty allows, and as ornamented as measure allows — emotional, but never overloaded. Restraint and accord.
