Totem One
crystal glass sculpture
Each piece was shaped intuitively on the factory floor, allowing the material itself to guide the final form and making every work unique. The work draws on the traditions of the Gus Crystal Factory in the Meshchera region, founded in 1756, as well as the glassmaking heritage of Murano, Venice, but ultimately informed by exotic nature of Brasil.
Olga Treivas is a São Paulo-based architect, designer and glass artist, and founder of Treivas Architecture Bureau. Her crystal work influenced by the traditions of the oldest glassworks in Europe. The Totem is designed by Treivas and made by Cristais Tavares in Brazil in 2026, the piece premiered at SP-Arte, São Paulo.
