Forest

wool blend woven throw
$600
Sale price  $600 Regular price

Birch trunks crowd the lower half, each drawn in fine dotted lines that read as bark from a distance and resolve into single stitches up close. Above them, a house stands in flat grey silhouette, with one small window set into the wall.

Inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing: walking in the forest and transforming contact with nature into meditation. The house is far enough to have left and near enough to return to, turning the walk through the forest into a quiet journey home. The design appears on the front side. Ribbed cream edge, studio seal at lower corner.

Alexandra Onipko is an artist, designer and the founder of Onipko, a textile brand built on her original graphic work. Before Onipko, she trained as an architect and worked as an art director on animated films for major international brands. Her first hand-knitted throw in 2020 grew into a limited-edition collection of throws, tapestries and tablecloths, now found in homes around the world.
