A cobalt sea fills the lower half, woven from thousands of short horizontal marks that scatter and thin toward the bottom edge until the water turns to light. Above the horizon the sun sits half-risen, its rays cut into clean grey wedges. The designer, Alexandra Onipko, describes the piece as being alone with the sea: catching that one sunset, taking the soft waves in. It's a blanket built for the end of a long day, and it feels like one. The design appears on the front side. Ribbed cream edge, studio seal at lower corner.
Alexandra Onipko is an artist, designer and the founder of Onipko, a textile brand built on her original graphic work. Before Onipko, she trained as an architect and worked as an art director on animated films for major international brands. Her first hand-knitted throw in 2020 grew into a limited-edition collection of throws, tapestries and tablecloths, now found in homes around the world.
