Beginning in the early 1960s, the reconstruction and improvement of highways became a state priority. The designers of this bus stop mosaic depicted the surrounding hills, a defining feature of the region's landscape, alongside one of its native animals, the red deer.
From Yevgen Nikiforov's Ukrainian Soviet Mosaics, a long-running photographic survey of monumental mosaic art across Ukraine.
